Bravado Magazine: Issue 02

$14.99

Issue 02 of Bravado Magazine continues our exploration of the people, ideas and creative energy shaping Te Tai Tokerau and beyond. Where salon, style, culture, people and place come together in unexpected and quietly powerful ways.

Bigger than our debut issue, Issue 02 brings together another collection of original stories, conversations and creative work. We look closer at the people doing interesting things, the ideas worth sharing and the character of the place we call home.

At its heart is Bravado Hair Salon’s latest feature editorial, After Hours, bringing together the creativity of our team through hair, fashion and vignettes of a night out in the 70s. Across the issue, we move between beauty and wellbeing, art and culture, food and drink, personal stories and the people building, making and shaping things around us.

Elsewhere in Issue 02, we explore seasonal shifts in our Spring Trend Report, drawing inspiration from nature and quiet comfort. We learn more about Bravado’s Blonde Specialist, Alisa Keeton, in 27 Questions With…, while Dr. Melissa Gilbert shares how what can be dismissed as menopause can actually be something else entirely in When Menopause Unmasks ADHD. In “What If?”, Creative Northland’s CEO, Olivia Garelja, looks ahead to an ambitious creative future for our region, while in Finding Home in Hospitality the owners of Local Talent Taverna share what it means to carry forward the spirit of a space locals love.

Across the issue, we explore the innovative way hair is cleaning up the ocean, discover a new podcast and hear what the theme of “Time” means to local make-up artist, Amelia Evans.

While Issue 01 was available complimentary as our first release, Issue 02 offers readers and collectors alike, the opportunity to invest into our undertaking.

Created independently in Whangārei and printed in a limited run, Bravado Magazine is an extension of the world we’ve built at Bravado: curious, creative and proudly connected to our community. Designed to be kept, revisited and shared.
